good news & good vibes

Well good news, everyone. Even though the US lost yesterday in their World Cup game they are still moving on to the next round so Bradley didn't  break up with me! Plus, this morning started off with a breakfast burrito and bacon so I would say Friday is looking pretty good, guys - even if it is cold and raining. Get you ish together, Portland.

With my good mood this morning let's get to linking up with Amanda for Friday Favorites

//This article speaks to me. Everything about it is spot on.

//When white people claim things. #Columbusing

//I will NEVER stop taking from your plate of food. As Helene says, get over it.

//But no really, this was my life. Thanks Glide High School.

//For the record - this song will be EVERYWHERE this summer. Mark my words, people. Mark my words. - PS. look how hipster I am with my music tastes. Sharing this song before it blows up.

Happy Friday!!

Pretty picture found here.

Cheers!

word to the wise

Don't wash your boyfriend's USMNT jersey the night before a big World Cup match...especially if he sleeps in it before each match like the boy from The Little Giants. He will be upset with you.

I will be sure to not make that same mistake again. We had to stay up extra late to let the jersey finishing washing and drying to not throw off the United States' Mojo...because Amurica

With that being said, we better win today and move onto the next round of play or I am sure Brad will blame me for the loss. In which I would respond with: don't put dirty clothes in the hamper if you don't want them washed. but what do I know?

And yes, I know what you're thinking. A grown man wears his favorite team's jersey to bed before each match. The answer is yes and yet I still love him. By now you know Bradley gets a little intense when it comes to his favorite teams whether it is Indiana University basketball or the United State's Men's Soccer Team. The boy is passionate, I suppose. If only he loved me this much.
Moral of the story. Go USA!!!!

Cheers!

Get sweaty for the US

So unless you live under a rock or hate our great nation you would know that yesterday, the United States Men's National Soccer Team won a pretty important game in the World Cup Group Stage.  So in honor of their win I wanted to share a workout that would make you nice and sweaty just like our boys in Red, White, and Blue were.

Here are examples for each movement so you look like a pro - just like the soccer boys.

::Down Dog Abs
::Side Lunges
::Dumbbell Woodchops
::Tricep Push-ups

Also, check out this reaction a Portland news anchor had on live TV when he realizes the US just scored their second goal that would give them the lead and win. You can watch the video clip here.

But no really, do this workout for not only US Men's National Team, but for our Country. It is what our Founding Fathers would want.

Cheers!

Happy Geoff Cameron Day!

Happy World Cup Day!!!!

OK, yeah, so the World Cup is here. It's cool and all. It's in Brazil. I left you with a lot of information on it last Friday. Yadda, yadda, yadda. You can go check it out here. What I actually want to talk to you about today is the amount of power I have in my relationship with Bradley. Don't worry this kind of ties into the World Cup. Sort of...

Now most of the time I try to use this power for the greater good and try not to abuse it. BUT I just have to share with you how awesome it is to be this influential when I want to. So, it is no surprise that at least 86% of the reason I watch soccer is for the attractive men. I have to stay entertained for the 90+ mins of the soccer game somehow. The first thing I do is pick out my favorites from each team. This year's favorite on the US Men's National Team... Hands down Geoff Cameron. Yum.

I may or may not have mentioned, on more than one occasion, that I find Geoff to be gorgeous even with his sometimes questionable facial hair. Anyway, one of the things I really think Geoff is doing right is being creative with his haircuts. Now soccer players often get a bad wrap for having horrible hair styles. Which most of them do have horrible haircuts. Geoff however has done well with getting an edgy cut, but not getting too crazy. Let's just say, I am a fan. I mean look at this photo, guys. So pretty.

Here is where the power in my relationship comes into play. Yesterday Bradley went to get his haircut and he totally showed his hairstylist pictures of Geoff Cameron. Now I don't want to say I influenced that... But I mean, let's be honest. I totally did.

Ohhh the girlfriend thinks Geoff Cameron is attractive. She mentioned it is the haircut that makes him attractive. If I get my haircut like Geoff's then maybe she will find me even more attractive?...That is obviously the conversation Bradley had with himself before his haircut.

Basically what I am saying is I have the power to make Bradley even more attractive and look like a professional soccer player.  His days of playing Division I soccer are not enough for this jersey chaser.  Pats self on back.

Now if only I could get Bradley to find a suit and tie like this....
Cheers to new haircuts oh and the World Cup too!

Friday Favorites - World Cup 2014 Addition

Happy, Happy Friday :)

This girl has big, big plans this weekend. They include being outside in the sun, going to Portland's Saturday Market...maybe laying by my grandma's pool. Going on a hike since there is no rain in the forecast for the next 10 days. Potentially watching The Fault In Our Stars, although, honestly, I am afraid I will cry like a little baby in public and I am not sure anyone needs to see that.

You know, really important weekend things. Basically what I am saying is I need to day to fly by so this fabulous weekend full of plans and no plans can start. Before the weekend starts though, let's link up with Amanda for Friday Favorites and talk about some of my favorite things that happened this week.

My favorite moment this week - besides my sister graduating - had to be falling asleep while reading outside yesterday afternoon. Gosh I love a good unexpected nap, especially when it is outside in the funshine.

For my favorite links of the week I want to also team up with Sarah and Fan out for Fan Friday on one topic. Let's focus on - World Cup 2014

Now, I know not everyone is obsessed with soccer like Bradley is - because let's be honest. Bradley is a little crazy and a little out of his mind with his love for the US Men's National team and soccer in general.

But here are a few reasons why you should take some time out of your schedule over the next few weeks and watch some of the World Cup games - especially the United States Men's National Team (you can cheer for us, Melissa even though you're Canadian).  The World Cup is being held in Brazil this year, so there will be many, many good looking fans that will be showed on TV. The Stadiums are ridiculous (if they get them finished in time - a lot of them are still not finished yet and the first game is in less than a week), and the hair styles by soccer players are always comical.

::First let the cast of Bend It Like Beckham explain the World Cup for you. Then....

::Get to know the US Men's Team a little bit better and read this

::Next, you should watch because there are at least 180 hot men that play soccer.

::Watch because our most important player is good with kids

::Watch for this beautiful Argentinian

::Watch for this beautiful American. Oh Geoff, you have won me over with your facial hair and hipster haircut.

::Watch for Tim Howard's sexy tattoos

::Do it for Shakira and her soccer playing, baby daddy and all the other WAGS

::Watch for these players and then check out their instagram accounts

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY WATCH BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST AMERICAN THING YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY FOR THE NEXT MONTH.  One Team. One Dream.

Oh, and watch for this Derp Face by Clint Dempsey (he is American).

Lastly, my #backthatazzup song of the week is even World Cup Theme. Check out this awesome music video / ad for the World Cup by Beats By Dre. It's sick.

Cheers to America!

ps. sorry for the link overload. I think I blacked out after looking at so many pretty soccer players.
