it's Halloween. boo

You guys may or may not know, but it's Halloween today boooo. As much as I love getting hopped up on candy, I am going to be honest - I am not a huge fan of today. It might have something to do with the fact that I am a big scaredy cat, but who's to say really?

When it comes to scary things, I just don't. I jump at loud noises and don't even think about scaring me. One time Brad decided it would be funny to jump out of a closet and it made me cry I was so startled. Also, I don't understand scary movies. Why do people like them? Why do they like torturing themselves for 2 hours? I literally look like this the entire time something frightening is on.

Pretty Little Liars even makes me jump. I have to pause the show and compose myself before I can move on to the next scary scene. Don't go into the pitch black woods alone, you stupid idiot! Brad was watching last night's episode of American Horror Story before I left the house this morning and I couldn't handle it. Not to mention shows like Criminal Minds. Oh.My.Gawd. Talk about nightmares. I want to love the show, I get caught up in the story line if I watch more than 5 mins., but sheet, I always assume I am going to be the next tragic victim after I watch an episode. When I go for runs alone, I think the random men on the street are going to attack me. Real sane, Brooke.

And then there are the people that think it's cool to make their yards and homes look frightening on Halloween. Can't I just get some Christmas lights up in the betch already?! I hated going to those houses for candy when I was little, even though you know they were always offering the good stuff. Why do I need some battery powered, scary ass witch popping out of a bush?! Are you trying to make me pee my pants?....All I want is some damn candy. What's a girl have to go through to get some Reeses Cups in her Halloween tub?!

Anyways, wish me luck on getting through the day and don't even think about trying to scare me. My natural reaction will be to punch you. Sorry, not sorry.

So while you guys are all scaring the shit out of each other and watching horrible movies like Friday The 13th, I am going to be over here watching Candy Mountain.

Trick or Treat!

I *tried* to watch the first season of American Horror Story. That shit is ridiculous. Nope. Can't do it. For some reason, I always think I'm a hero and can watch scary movies. Nope. Can't. I'm with ya, sister.

Scary movies and criminal shows make me pretty paranoid, but as long as I have someone with me I am okay ha ha. (Also, if I can run faster than the person I'm with its a bonus).
Hope you have a very happy and non-spooky Halloween!

Our neighbor used to dress up as a scarecrow and sit in a chair outside his house, with the candy bowl in his lap. Just as you reached in the bowl, he would move or God forbid, grab you. Scarred for life.

I always think I like scary movies, then halfway through I'm like “what was I thinking?"!!

Be glad you don't live in my neighborhood. Some psychopath decided it was a good idea to put up a freaky scene with killer psycho clowns (multiple, life-size) in his front yard. I've seen it every day on my way to work for the past 2 weeks. I love Halloween for the fun bits, but I hate the scary stuff.

Pretty Little Liars is actually really scary!!!! I always get freaked out when I watch it and I've even had nightmares about that freaky doll shop.

We can be scaredy-cats together. PLL, for real, is scary sometimes. But they're such idiots on the show..it's like, really???? THE WOODS BY YOURSELF??

I also hate scary movies I just don't get it. But I love Criminal Minds because of the psych aspect, I just don't watch it alone. ;)

I must admit, I definitely wouldn't have pegged you for a scaredy-cat! This is hilarious though. especially your commentary on the "scary ass witch popping out of a bush." I was always pretty freaked out by those houses too.

So I'm guessing you never watched all the Saw movies, huh? And the non-scary houses always had apples or crappy candy.
