I Think I Am Falling In Love...

With my spin class. One of those unhealthy kinds of love. You know the one I am talking about....

My new love and I fight for the entire hour each Wednesday night. My stomach is in knots. I am sweaty and uncomfortable. By the end I'm not sure if I am going to cry or throw up, but damn-it we make it through each class and we have a stronger relationship because of it.

'Sometimes I come to the gym for a pump or a crush. Sometimes it's just about getting my thick on or other times just getting yoked up.  Sometimes it's just about toning up my base. But when I come to the gym to spin, there's nothing like it. I love it. I mean, I'm freaking happy as a clam up on this bike.' - Schmidt

Not to mention the fact that I have a crush on my spin instructor. I get this weird pleasure when she yells at us to try harder and then laughs as she says it or tells us to take it to the 'hurt tank' whatever the hell that means.  I want to be mad at her, but she is probably close to 40 and yet still in better shape than I am, so I try to be like her instead. Creepy much?

I have decided to only go once a week to spin. Partly mostly, because my favorite instructor only teaches one class at our gym on Wednesday nights. The other part is due to the fact that I want to keep my relationship with Spin fresh and exciting.  No need to rush into this love and get sick of each other in a week's time. Ain't nobody got time for that. Instead, I go once a week (tonight!) and get excited slash nervous right before each class, just like first date jitters. It's lovely and hell all at the same time :)

Who's ready to get quad dominant today, you cardio freaks!?

Cheers to Spin!

Oh my goodness I love me some spin! I was addicted to it when I lived in Boise. There was an instructor who I loved (aka had a girl crush on) who taught 3 times a week! I went to all her classes. Her energy mixed with kick ass tunes and realistic rides were Amaze-balls! I need to find a good class/teacher in Portland and fall in love all over again.

Haha, good for you. I too had a bit of a crush on this one spin teacher at the 24 I went to for a while... made all the spinning more bearable! That and the catchy pop music. ;) I think I was overtraining, though! Never saw any results even after doing it regularly for a while. So I went back to resistance training. Glad you're having fun with it!!

Yes! I used to be all over spin class before life went crazy. Totally a healthy crush in my book! I'm happy you found a great instructor!
