twitter twatter

Ugh, am I just getting old or is Twitter way too hard to keep up with?!

Shit gives me a small panic attack every time I try and use it for more than putting up a new blog post. It just goes too fast for me. So much information in such a tiny amount of time!!! AHHHHHH!

I am just bad at it and Brad is on Twitter ALL THE TIME! He is pretty much obsessed with it. (Although any time I tell him that he gets all defensive and says he's not.  In fact he will probs get mad at me for putting him on blast right now. whatever) He also gets really mad at me when I knock his phone out of his hand every time he is on Twitter, but that's a story for another day. sorry, not sorry.

Here is my real concern though, does being horrible at Twitter make me a bad blogger?!!? I feel like every blogger I know is on every form of social media?  Forms that I haven't even heard of (what the h, e, double hockey sticks is Keek?!). How do you people keep up?! I swear all the other bloggers are blowing up the Twitter Twatter on the regular and here I am posting once a day and then feel like I am playing catch up with the 146,907,832 tweets that happened from the time I posted mine and the time I hit refresh. A majority of the time I only read a few tweets before I get overwhelmed and head to instagram and give up.

49 new tweets, I was gone for 30 secs. ugh.

Don't even get me started on the notifications section of Twitter. I am always losing track of who responded to something, or who favorited a tweet, and it took me at least 7 mins to find where the Direct Message section was yesterday. My life is so hard. Feel bad for me.

So.much.to.follow.

And while we're on this rant, why the name Twitter? I can't take myself seriously when I use the terms like Tweet or Twitter.  Are the people that send tweets called Tweeters? That just sounds stupid.

I. give. up.

Ugh, guess I have to go post this on Twitter now that I am done.

Peace

<3 BB

Ps. you should really go follow me on Twitter ;) My tweet game is on point.

Ugh, I'm right there with you. Twitter is just too fast. The other day I found that a couple people tweeted me (is that what it's called?) a few weeks ago...and I felt like a jerk for missing it. It seems like Twitter could stand to be a little more user-friendly. I'm a facebook die-hard (been on it since 2004), but Twitter- meh.

Amen! What is up with Twitter? I am so lost and confused when I get on that thing- Facebook, blogs, Instagram and uh, not to mention LIFE are enough to keep up with. I am suppose to use Twitter as well to "promote" my business, blah, blah, blah and I am horrible at it. I'm lucky if I remember to post a link to my blog posts. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it... you have other sources of social media and I think one (or even two) is enough. Your life can't revolve around all this technology- you'll miss out on the bigger picture. :)

I am so bad at Tweeter twatter too. And the only times I ever have something really good to tweet my phone is ALWAYS dead.

Ha I totally feel you on this one... Twitter has taken me the longest to get the hang of (still not 100% yet) but I don't hate it.

I am so bad at Twitter too! I don't have enough patience for all the new posts that show up every second. It's a little overwhelming at times, but I do like it overall...from a distance! :)

You're not alone, for sure. I get annoyed and overwheled since how can I possibly see all the tweets of people I like, so it's really just chance that I see whatever tweets I see! Kinda scary! I have some Twitter lists but I'm not good about checking them. There are also features in Hootsuite that help organize tweets, but I don't use them... :P I don't think you were at the Portland Bloggers Social Media Strategies event, were you? Last month... the slides are up on Slideshare! http://www.slideshare.net/AshleyStuart/social-strategies-for-bloggers

Ha! I can relate! Even though I love it!

Haha, you are definitely not alone! I try to keep the number of people I follow to a minimum and that really helps. And I think you can use the groups to follow celebrities in one list, real friends in another, and blog friends in another. Or just ditch it all together... Seems like you're just fine without it!

Fantastic use of GIFs, my friend.

hahaha I know exactly how you feel. If I tried to keep up I would literally be on my phone all day, soo I just settle for seeing whatever happens to be there when I open it and leave it at that.
