hashtag confessions

Happy Wednesday, people. Let's get right to it and start confessing things with Kathy and her blog....because why not share my embarrassing moments and quirk? They happen often and they are awkward.

I confess: After last week's yoga sesh I started getting deep into the world of instagram hashtags. First it was just #yoga and then I came across the hashtag #nakedyoga. I may or may not have looked. It was what you would expect... .a combo of pretty yoga girls doing poses with little to zero clothing on, as well as fat, hairy men attempting. Browse at your own risk.

::Speaking of hashtags... I confess: There is one for the World Cup called #WorldCupMyBalls. I died and then might have used it.

::I confess: I get irrationally upset over that stupid Sprint Framily commercial with Kevin Durant...not because it is stupid and Kevin Durant can fly in it -but because the kid has a horrible southern-ish accent and the mom doesn't. Never mind the fact that the other commercials have a talking hamster and what not....The commercial is not real life because of the accents. Also, how are they using the word Framily and getting away with it on National TV for their ads? Get it together, Sprint. You're the worst.

::Lastly, I confess: I am starting golf lessons tonight and I am nervous. I dislike doing things in front of people if I am not great at them. It's not that I am horrible at golf, I just tend to swing too hard sometimes and miss the ball entirely. That's not embarrassing or anything... I'll let you know how it goes.

is there such thing as a healthy-ish dessert?

Happy Friday, my lovelies. Today I want to discuss Friday Favorites and things from this week that made me happy with Amanda from Meet At The Barre.  Want to share some links. Some food. Some Yoga moves...and some all around goodness.

First, let's talk about this awesome 'dessert' I made last night. Here is what you need.

::banana
::peanut butter
::honey
::dark chocolate chips
::whole wheat tortilla
::butter

Then go ahead and make yourself a dessert quesadilla with all the goodies. In case you live under a rock and have never made a quesadilla...The butter goes on the outside of the tortilla so it doesn't burn to the pan and the outside of the shell gets nice and golden brown with a little crisp. The rest of the goodies go inside for some heavenly goodness that is not too unhealthy for you.

Next, let's talk about how after that dessert I decided to play around with some yoga. It was an off day for workouts, but I wanted to get some stretching in. I am trying to do yoga at least twice a week these days and it is definitely helping with my tightness. I was also really excited because I was able to build into this headstand after watching this video posted by Lululemon.

I might have also pulled something in my neck a little bit when I was flopping around trying handstands and other poses, but that is neither here nor there... Let's just focus on the fact that I was able to nail headstands and crow's pose multiple times last night.

And now let's share some of my favorite links.

::With another school shooting this week, this time too close to home, I found this article to be very interesting.

::Thanks Macey for this find on 5 things every daughter should be taught.

::Watch this French Bulldog be the cutest.

::The sexiest beards of the World Cup. mmmhmmm

Lastly, here is my favorite song of the week for #backthatazzup Friday.

Don't Wait by Mapei on Grooveshark

Cheers to Friday!

low key shenans

hmm this weekend. Wish I could say it was jammed packed and exciting, but I can't lie to you people. It wasn't and I was happy about it.  In fact, it was the first weekend I had no real plans in like 3+ months, now that coaching track in Salem is over and my travels to Seattle and San Diego are done and gone (RIP vacation). Needless to say, my life was tired....like to the point I left my vacation suitcase in the living room for more than a day and I NEVER DO THAT.

But never fear I did do a few awesome things.

Sami's Shenanigans

Including::

Happy Hour Friday night at Deschutes with some lovely ladies and some man friends. Then headed over to a different friend's apartment for dinner. Which, side note, my friend's apartment rocked and it had a ton of personality, including cement floors and I want it in my life! Andra is also very DIY-ie and it's not fair, because her DIY touches just add that much more to the place. I really need to step up my game.

Practiced some yoga after a Saturday afternoon run. I want to be able to do this. And yes, I made Brad take a photo so I would have stuff to put on the blog this morning. This is what happens when you have a low key weekend. You have to be creative read pathetic with your weekend photos come Monday.

Brad made Sunday breakfast of banana pancakes (but no really, it was just banana, protein powder, and eggs), turkey bacon, and sausage.

Worked out with my sister on Sunday, as she is slowly getting back in shape after tearing her ACL. Just call me Trainer Babbles.

And did a lot of sleeping. Ok, that last one was me in my first big girl bed, not this weekend, but I still did a lot of sleeping this weekend :)

How was your weekend?!

Cheers,

Happy Friday!

Friday, I needed you. Although I didn't need your alarm to come quite so quickly this morning.  This girl had every intention of getting up early for a morning workout, but when that alarm went off there was no way I was getting up.  Kind of like how I have been meaning to stretch / yoga every morning and night too....yeah that hasn't happened either.

Good news:  I brought my running clothes with me for a lunch time workout! Win some, lose some.

Double good news: As long as I get through this work day I get to head to the beach for the weekend. The weather is maybe even going to be decent! Say it isn't so?! I am hoping to play with my camera on the beach some and eat cheese curds at the Tillamook Cheese Factory! Wish me luck.

Anyways, Happy Friday! Here are links to get you through the weekend or at least your afternoon of work.

Hitting the Links :: Happy March

So.many.good.things.happening. I almost can't contain myself:

::FIRST OFF, TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY! I am announcing the winner on Monday....and don't worry, I am using a random number generator to pick the winner, so it won't be biased - Plus, the more people that enter the giveaway - the less chance Brad has of winning and that is always a good thing ;)

:: It's Friday

:: It's March (which means it's almost Spring time!)

::It's supposed to be over 60 degrees here in PDX today - so warm.

::MARCH MA-MA-MA-MADNESS is almost here!!! ermahgerd cannot wait for March Madness, it may be better than Christmas.

::Last night I watched the Season Finale of Top Chef - and although I thought it was a really stupid finale (not who they chose for winner, but how they set up the finale itself) I was very happy to see my favorite past winner Michael Voltaggio.  I have missed that smug a-hole.

::I woke up early and got some cardio in.  -- Seriously though, why don't I do this more often?!  I always feel  so much better about my life when I do.

::Rewarded myself with a coffee from Uptown Market.  - It was payday yesterday, so I splurged, ok?!

::Tomorrow is Willamette's first track meet of the season!! Aka my coaching debut for the season! Bearcats, rawr.

::Sunday Brad and I are headed to the Timbers first official MLS game of the season as season ticket holders.  holla at your gurl

::Lastly, thanks for supporting my Chipotle habit, Ryry.  Might of had it twice this week.

And now for some linksssssss.

What cheap eats in pdx do you want to try?
